USA & Canada launch of The Years That Followed
US publication of #theyearsthatfollowed is the 11th October, next Tuesday. I’ll be helping to send it – my tenth novel – out into the world when I arrive in New York on the 16th, ready for action!
Touchstone Books have done such a superb job – the book trailer is a delight – and the hardback edition is a joy to hold. Nothing, but nothing, takes the place of paper…
That new book smell!
And once all the New York shenanigans are over, I’m heading north.
The drive from New York to Canada is, I’m reliably told, spectacular at this time of year. The autumn colours are all ablaze – watch this space for photographs in the coming week.
I’m very fortunate to be paying a return visit to the lovely Niagara-on-the-Lake, which I first experienced in July of this year.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is where the Shaw Festival takes place each year – a theatre festival that runs from May to October.
I’m definitely planning to go back, some other year, and immerse myself again in the wonderful theatrical productions there, staged in four different venues throughout the town.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is also the centre of the wine-producing region of Canada – and superb wine it is, too.
Ravine Vineyard there have generously offered to host my book launch for The Years That Followed.
It will take place on the 25th October and I can guarantee that the food and the wine will be incomparable. I’ll try to make the readings match their standard… My thanks to Nicola and Paul Harber, owners of Ravine, for their kind invitation.
None of this would have been possible without the help of publicist par excellence, Marion Grobb-Finkelstein, ably supported by Helen Hansen. I’m very grateful for the hard work they have put into organising this event.
The tickets are going fast, and it’s thanks to both of these extraordinary women that we will have a packed venue on the night.
